I do not have Facetime and I am allergic to Zoom and Teams.
WhatsApp I tried and gave up after a week. In my worlds, it’s the weapon of choice for people who would rather play texty-text tennis at home than meet someone down the street for a coffee and a night out. Same as sadly, there’s still a pandemic of Netflix + Uber Eats/Doordash instead of let’s go to the eatery then go to the pub for a nightcap.* Ugh.
It’s also (in my experience only) the preserve of helicopter parents who hover over their very adult children needing to know where they are, what they’re doing, who they’re doing it with, etc.* Ugh ugh.
* Ts&Cs apply. Many have very legitimate reasons for doing this, but as the father of two 30-somethings, playing puppermaster to adults who should be able to run their own lives? Ugh ugh ugh.
I better get this soap-box back to the patchouli and melaleuca balm co-op.
